Bussières is a French commune with 125 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the arrondissement of Avallon , in the Yonne department and in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region . The municipality belongs to the canton of Avallon (until 2015: canton of Quarré-les-Tombes ). The inhabitants are called Buxenois .

Bussières is located about 55 kilometers southeast of Auxerre in the Morvan Regional Nature Park ( French Parc naturel régional du Morvan ). Bussières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Magnance in the north, Rouvray in the east and south-east, Saint-Andeux in the south-east, Saint-Léger-Vauban in the south, Beauvilliers in the south and south-west and Saint-Brancher in the west.
