Molosmes is a French commune with 175 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Yonne department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region (before 2016 Bourgogne ) in eastern France . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Avallon and the canton Tonnerrois (until 2015 Tonnerre ). The inhabitants are called Molosmiers .

Molosmes is about 40 kilometers east-northeast of Auxerre . Molosmes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lignières in the north and north-west, Coussegrey in the north, Mélisey in the east and north-east, Saint-Martin-sur-Armançon in the east and south-east, Tonnerre in the south and south-west, Épineuil and Dannemoine in the west and Cheney in the north-west.

The municipality is located in the Bourgogne wine region .
