Provency is a French municipality with 243 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yonne in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Avallon and the Canton of Avallon .
geography
Provency is about 50 kilometers southeast of Auxerre on the Vau de Bouche River . Provency is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Colombe in the north and northeast, Athie in the east, Sauvigny-le-Bois in the south, Étaule in the west and south-west and Thory in the north-west.
The A 6 car route leads through the municipality .
