The municipality is located 44 kilometers south-southeast of Auxerre an der Cure in the Morvan Regional Nature Park . Domecy-sur-Cure is surrounded by the neighboring communities Pierre-Perthuis in the north and north-west, Ménades in the north and north-west, Saint-André-en-Morvan in the east and south-east, Bazoches in the south, and Saint-Aubin-des-Chaumes in the south-west as well Fontenay-près-Vézelay to the west.
