Viviers is a French commune with 127 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Yonne department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region (before 2016 Bourgogne ) in eastern France . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Avallon and the canton Tonnerrois (until 2015 Tonnerre ).

Viviers is about 35 kilometers east of Auxerre . Viviers is surrounded by the neighboring communities Serrigny in the north and north-west, Tonnerre in the north and east, Yrouerre in the east and south-east, Poilly-sur-Serein in the south and Béru in the west.
