The Communauté de communes Forterre Val d'Yonne is a former French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the departments of Yonne and Nièvre region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It was founded on January 1, 2014 and comprised 19 parishes. The administrative seat was in Molesmes . A special feature was the cross-departmental structure of the municipalities.

Historical development

The community association was created in 2014 through the merger of the predecessor organizations Communauté de communes de Forterre and Communauté de communes du Pays de Coulanges-sur-Yonne .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged

and thus formed the successor organization Communauté de communes de Puisaye-Forterre . In contrast to this, the municipality of Merry-sur-Yonne changed to the Communauté de communes du Pays Coulangeois . At the same time, the municipalities of Fontenailles , Molesmes and Taingy merged to form the Commune nouvelle Les Hauts de Forterre .
