Vouziers is a French commune with 4,340 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region . It is the administrative seat of the arrondissement of Vouziers .

It was created with effect from June 1, 2016 by merging the former municipalities of Terron-sur-Aisne , Vrizy and Vouziers into a commune nouvelle with the identical name Vouziers , in which the former municipalities have the status of a commune déléguée . The administrative headquarters are in Vouziers.

geography

Vouziers is about 50 kilometers northeast of the city center of Reims . The municipality is crossed by the Aisne river. Neighboring communities are:

• Voncq in the north,
• Vandy , Ballay and Toges in the northeast,
• La Croix-aux-Bois and Longwé in the east,
• Falaise and Savigny-sur-Aisne in the southeast,
• Saint-Morel in the south,
• Sainte-Marie in the southwest,
• Bourcq and Mars-sous-Bourcq to the west, as well
• Grivy-Loisy in the northwest.
