Exermont is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Apremont and Chatel-Chéhéry in the southwest, Fléville in the northwest, Sommerance and the municipality of Landres-et-Saint-Georges in the canton of Vouziers in the north and the municipalities of Romagne-sous-Montfaucon in the Meuse department Northeast, Gesnes-en-Argonne and Cierges-sous-Montfaucon in the east, Épinonville in the southeast and Baulny in the south.
