Mont-Saint-Remy is a French commune with 56 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region in the canton of Attigny .

The departmental roads 925 and 23 intersect in the village.

history

During the First World War , the place was occupied by German troops and a base for supplies and a military hospital. In April 1917 a German military cemetery was set up, which is still preserved today. More than 200 soldiers were buried on it. More soldiers were later reburied here by French authorities, so that today 2975 dead are buried here. The German painter Benno Berneis (1883–1916) is also buried here.
