Quatre-Champs is a French commune with 218 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Vouziers and to the local authority association L'Argonne Ardennaise, founded in 1997 . The residents are called quatchenats .

geography

Quatre-Champs is located in the hill country between Champagne and the Ardennes on the Aisne tributary Fournelle , about 30 kilometers east of Rethel and about 35 kilometers south-southwest of Sedan . In the west, north and south-east the municipality has shares in larger forest areas. The districts of La Converserie and La Tuilerie belong to the municipality . Quatre-Champs is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Bairon et ses environs in the north, Belleville-et-Châtillon-sur-Bar in the northeast and southeast, Noirval in the east, Toges in the south, Ballay in the southwest and Vandy in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure

Quatre-Champs is partly rural. Ten forest holdings and five farms (cattle breeding and dairy farming) are located in the municipality.

The D977 trunk road from Sedan to Vouziers runs through the municipality of Quatre-Champs . In the town of Rethel , 30 kilometers away, there is a connection to the Autoroute A34 ( Reims- Sedan). Sedan Station, 35 kilometers from Quatre-Champs, is on the Mohon – Thionville railway line .
