Fontenay-en-Parisis is a French commune with 1,980 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Val-d'Oise in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Sarcelles and the Canton of Fosses (until 2015: Canton of Luzarches ). The inhabitants are called Fontenaysia .

Fontenay-en-Parisis is located about 23 km north-northeast of Paris . The croult flows through the community. Fontenay-en-Parisis is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Jagny-sous-Bois in the north, Châtenay-en-France in the north and northeast, Puiseux-en-France in the northeast, Louvres in the east, Goussainville in the south and southeast, Bouqueval in the south, Le Plessis-Gassot in the south-west, Le Mesnil-Aubry in the west and Mareil-en-France in the north-west.
The national route 104 (the so-called Francilienne ) runs through the municipality .
