Bonneuil-en-France is a commune with 1,076 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Val-d'Oise in the region of Ile-de-France . It has the largest municipal area and the highest population and density of the municipalities in the canton of Villiers-le-Bel . The inhabitants are called Bonneuilleux or Bonneuillois .
geography
Bonneuil-en-France is located on the border of the Val-d'Oise department and the Seine-Saint-Denis department, 14 kilometers northeast of Paris . Neighboring municipalities of Bonneuil-en-France are Arnouville in the north, Gonesse in the northeast, Le Blanc-Mesnil in the southeast and Garges-lès-Gonesse in the west. The municipality covers 471 hectares, the mean height is 47 meters above sea level , the Mairie stands at a height of 49 meters.

history
In the Gallo-Roman period (52 BC to 486 AD) the Roman road from Senlis (Augustomagus) to Paris (Lutetia) led through what is now the municipality of Bonneuil-en-France. This road was still used in the Middle Ages . At that time it linked Paris with Meaux . In 832 Bonneuil-en-France was mentioned as Bonogilo as a property of the Abbey of Saint-Denis .
The Seigneurie Bonneuil was acquired by Pierre de Chastel in 1379, in the 15th century it belonged to Pierre d'Harsicourt, a chevalier of King Charles VII (1403-1461). 1425 confiscated John of Lancaster, 1st Duke of Bedford (1389-1435) in the course of the Hundred Years War (1337-1453) the seigneury for Henry VI. of England (1420-1471). In the 16th century the Seigneurie came into the possession of the Thou family and in 1643 it fell to the Harlay family.
In 1793 Bonneuil-en-France received the status of a municipality under the name Bonneuil and in 1801 through the administrative reform under Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) also under the name Bonneuil the right to local self-government . From 1790 to 1964 the community belonged to the former Seine-et-Oise department , then briefly to the Yvelines department and finally to the Val-d'Oise department in the same year.

Culture and sights
The patron saint of the Saint-Martin church, built between 1768 and 1773, is Martin von Tours . In the church there is a listed relief from the 18th century, which shows Martin von Tours as a rider of the Roman Legion , who gives his cloak to a beggar. The work of art was classified as a Monument historique in 2000 . Bonneuil-en-Franc belongs to the Roman Catholic parish Arnouville of the deanery Gonesse, which is part of the diocese of Pontoise .
Economy and Infrastructure
Part of Le Bourget Airport is located in the municipality. The airport was destroyed during the Second World War (1939-1945). After the war it was put back into operation and served as a civil airport until the 1970s. Today it houses a museum.
In 2009, 12.5 percent of the workforce were employed in the municipality, the rest were commuters . 5.1 per cent of 15 to 64 were in the resting or early. 15.9 percent of the employees were unemployed .
There is a primary school in the community. There are secondary schools in Arnouville ( Collège ) and Gonesse ( Lycée )
