The inhabitants are called Francs-Chatenaisiens .

Châtenay-en-France is about 24 kilometers north-northeast of Paris . Châtenay-en-France is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Jagny-sous-Bois in the north and north-west, Bellefontaine in the north, Puiseux-en-France in the east and Fontenay-en-Parisis in the south and west.
