Montlignon is a French commune in the department of Val-d'Oise in the region of Ile-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Sarcelles and the Canton of Montmorency . The residents call themselves Montlignonnais or Montlignonnaises .

The small town of Montlignon with 2978 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) is located 18 kilometers north of Paris . Neighboring municipalities of Montlignon are Saint-Prix in the west, Domont in the north, Andilly in the east, Margency in the southeast and Eaubonne in the south.

history

The place is first mentioned as Métiger in 1099. In the middle of the 12th century the manor was bought by the Abbey of Saint-Denis . In 1294 the place was passed to the Montmorency family in an exchange of goods .
