Luzarches is a French municipality with 4551 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Val-d'Oise in the region of Ile-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Sarcelles and the canton of Fosses . The inhabitants are called Luzarchois .
Luzarches is located in the Ysieux Valley between the Plaine de France and the Forêt de Chantilly , about 30 km north of Paris .

The place is mentioned in 679 and 692 as Lusarca , in 775 as Lusareca . At that time there was a church of Saint-Côme et Saint-Damien, which was among the goods that Charlemagne donated to the Abbey of Saint-Denis . In the Middle Ages, Luzarches belonged to the Clermont family .
The Hérivaux Abbey was founded in the 12th century . In the 13th century, Luzarches had around 2000 inhabitants. After the Battle of Azincourt (1415) the place came to the English nobleman Willoughby, after the expulsion of the English to the Prince of Orange .
