Fosses is a French commune with 9,679 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Val-d'Oise department of the Île-de-France region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Sarcelles and the canton of Fosses . The inhabitants are called Fossatussiens .
geography
Fosses is located on the river Ysieux , a tributary of the Oise , about 30 kilometers northwest of Paris . Fosses is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Chapelle-en-Serval ( Oise Department ) in the north, Survilliers in the east, Saint-Witz in the southeast, Marly-la-Ville in the south and Bellefontaine in the west.
