Domont is a French commune with 15,514 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Val-d'Oise department and is located on the northern periphery of Paris . Domont belongs to the arrondissement of Sarcelles and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of the same name, Domont .

Domont is located 21 kilometers north of Paris .
The neighboring communities of Domont are Moisselles in the north, Ézanville in the east, Montmorency and Piscop in the south, Montlignon and Andilly in the south-west, Saint-Prix in the west and Bouffémont in the north-west.

history
Domont has been known as a lumberjack and farm worker settlement since the Middle Ages. In 1105/1108 the settlement is mentioned by the lord of Domont, Rudolphe de Bel. Pope Kalixt II recognized the donation to the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Martin-des-Champs in Paris in 1149 .
With the establishment of new residential areas, the number of inhabitants increased significantly in the late 20th century.
