François Bousquet

François Bousquet (born March 15, 1947 in Domont ) is a French theologian and Roman Catholic clergyman.

Life

François Bousquet studied philosophy at the Sorbonne and at the Institut Catholique de Paris . In 1971 he received his doctorate and from 1969 to 1973 taught philosophy at the Philosophical Faculty of the Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec . In 1975 he was ordained a priest in Pontoise and worked in the diocesan pastoral care. From 1988 to 1993 he was episcopal vicar in the diocese of Pontoise . From 1993 to 2003 he was the spiritual director of the Carmelite Seminary at the Institut Catholique de Paris.

Bousquet taught the history of Greek philosophy (1978–1989) and fundamental theology (1989–1999) at the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP). In 1999 he took over the management of the Institute for Science and Theology of Religions and from 2005 to 2008 head of research at the ICP. In 2011 he was appointed Rector of the Saint Louis des Français Convict in Rome.

He is a member of numerous scientific committees. He is a member of the Pontifical Council for Culture and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue . He is considered a renowned Kierkegaard specialist. He has published many basic theological works.
