Bodo Schwanbeck (born July 20, 1935 in Schwerin ) is a German opera singer ( bass / bass baritone ) and chamber singer .

Life

Schwanbeck studied singing with Franz-Theo Reuter at the Musikhochschule in Munich and with Karl Heinz Jarius in Stuttgart. He received his first contract in 1958 at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich. From 1959 to 1961 he went to the Landestheater Detmold , where he was the inaugural role of Warlaam in Boris Godunow . From 1961 to 1962 he appeared at the Landestheater Saarbrücken and from 1962 to 1966 at the Stadttheater Augsburg . In 1965 he came to the Zurich Opera House for four years . He then moved to the Frankfurt Opera , where he was appointed chamber singer in 1986.
