Market hall in Luzarches

The market hall in Luzarches , a commune in the Val-d'Oise department in the French region of Île-de-France , was originally built in the 14th century. The market hall has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1928 .

History and description

The market hall was first handed down in 1386. Although it has been renovated several times since the Middle Ages , it has retained its original character.

The hall consists of seven pillars each on its long sides (east and west side) and one additional pillar on each of the narrow sides. All pillars are reinforced with stone bases . The construction is made of wood and is closed off by a hipped roof covered with flat tiles .
