Saint Gwenaël Chapel

Lanester , Breton : Lannarstêr , is a French municipality with 22,728 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the Arrondissement Lorient , the municipality association Lorient Agglomération and is the main town (chief lieu) of the canton Lanester .

geography

The town of Lanester is located at the confluence of the Scorff in the estuary of the Blavet . The highest point is at 51 meters above sea level. The neighboring municipalities are Lorient , Caudan , Hennebont , Kervignac and Locmiquélic .

history

The parish was established in 1909 from the southern part of the parish of Caudan.
