geography
Locmaria is located around 21 km south of Quiberon and around 47 kilometers southwest of Vannes in the south-east of the island of Belle-Île, south of the mainland of Brittany. The municipality belongs to the community association Communauté de communes de Belle-Île-en-Mer .
Neighboring communities in the northwest are Bangor and Le Palais . In all other directions the community borders on the sea.
