The canton of Quiberon (Breton canton Kiberen ) is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Lorient , in the department of Morbihan and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Quiberon .
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, seven municipalities belonged to the canton of Quiberon. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, all communes of the previous cantons of Belz and Belle-Île switched to the canton of Quiberon in 2015 . Thus the new canton of Quiberon has sixteen municipalities.

The canton is located in the south of the Morbihan department, partly by the sea and partly in the sea ( Belle-Île island ).

Canton of Quiberon until 2015
Until the state-wide reorganization of the cantons in 2015, the old canton of Quiberon comprised seven municipalities on an area of 78.59 km². These were: Carnac , Hœdic , Île-d'Houat , Plouharnel , Quiberon (main town), Saint-Pierre-Quiberon and La Trinité-sur-Mer .
