The canton of Hennebont (Breton canton Henbont ) is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Lorient , in the department of Morbihan and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Hennebont .

The canton is located in the western part of the Morbihan department near Lorient .

history

The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, four communities belonged to the canton of Hennebont. With the reorganization of the cantons in France in 2015, two of the four previous communes moved to other cantons (Guidel and Pluvigner). In contrast, there were four of the nine municipalities in the canton of Port-Louis .
