The canton of Lanester (Breton canton Lannarstêr ) is a French administrative unit in the arrondissement of Lorient , in the department of Morbihan and in the region of Brittany . Its main town is Lanester .

The canton is located in the southwest of the Morbihan department near the city of Lorient .

history

The canton of Lanester was created on February 5, 1982 through a spin-off from the canton of Pont-Scorff . Until March 15, 2015, it consisted only of the Lanester community. Then, with the reorganization of the cantons, the municipality of Caudan from the previous canton of Pont-Scorff was added.
