Languidic ( Breton .: Langedig ) is a commune with 7,971 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Lorient and the canton of Hennebont and is a member of the Lorient Agglomération community association .

geography

The municipality is located around 35 kilometers northwest of Vannes and 18 kilometers northeast of Lorient . Neighboring municipalities are Quistinic in the north, Baud in the northeast, Pluvigner and Landévant in the southeast, Nostang in the south, Brandérion and Kervignac in the southwest, Hennebont and Inzinzac-Lochrist in the west and Lanvaudan in the northwest.

The northern and western municipal boundaries are formed by the Blavet River and its tributary Ével . Other bodies of water flow south, particularly the Étel , which rises in the municipality and flows into the Atlantic after 35 kilometers in an impressive ria .

Transport links

The municipal area is crossed by the national road N24 . The departmental roads D102 and D724 offer further road connections . The two railway lines from Auray to Lorient and from Auray to Pontivy only touch the municipality briefly. On the latter, however, is the Baud train station, which has since been closed.
