The Lorient Agglomération is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It has its administrative headquarters in Lorient and comprises 25 municipalities.

founding

It was established on January 1, 2014 as the successor organization to the communal associations Communauté de communes de la région de Plouay and Communauté Cap l'Orient .

tasks

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association also operates the sewage disposal.
