Karl Stephan Streit (born March 31, 1833 in Münnerstadt , Lower Franconia ; † February 12, 1902 in Bad Kissingen , Lower Franconia) was a Bavarian government auditor , saltworks administrator and art collector.

Life

Streit attended grammar school in Münnerstadt and studied law at the University of Würzburg . He was secretary of the agricultural association, finally a government auditor and was later appointed to the royal Bavarian economic council. After his in the Bavarian nobility raised brother Dr. Ignaz von Streit had become the leaseholder of the bathing facilities in the neighboring Bavarian health resorts Bad Kissingen and Bad Bocklet , Karl Streit took over the supervision of agriculture and the gardening of the Upper Saline in Hausen near Bad Kissingen, which had long been converted into living space .

He was also the author of the book Tylman Riemenschneider 1460–1531, Life and Works of Art of the Franconian Carver (Berlin 1888).
