The N23bis was a branch of Route nationale 23 . The national road was added to the national road network in 1862 and emerged from several Routes départementales and Routes stratégiques . It ran in two parts between Pré-en-Pail and Ancenis. In 1973 the N23bis was downgraded. From the route stratégique 6, 12 and 27 come the sections between Jais and Villiers-Charlemagne, Candé and Pouillé-les-Côteaux, as well as Château-Gontier and Segré. The remaining sections in between from the D12, D13 and D19.
