The Route nationale 97 , or N 97 or RN 97 for short , was a French national road that was laid between Toulon and Antibes in 1824. It goes back to the route impériale 116 . Their length was 138 kilometers. In 1828 it was reduced to the 53-kilometer section between Toulon and Le Luc , as national road 7 contained a new route, for which the N 97 had to give up part. The signs on this route remained in place for about 100 years. In 2006 the N 97 was phased out, as the Autobahn 57 runs parallel.

N 97bis

The route national 97 Bis , or N 97 Bis or RN 97 Bis for short , was a parallel expressway to the N 97 between Toulon and La Valette-du-Var from 1964 to 1967 . It was reclassified to the C 52 motorway and has been numbered A 57 since 1982 .
