The Route nationale 59 Bis , or N 59 Bis or RN 59 Bis for short , was a branch of the National Road 59 , which was designated as a national road from 1881 to 1973. The length was 49 kilometers. The road branched off from the N 59 in Raon-l'Etape and runs, among other things, over the "Col de la Chipotte", 456 meters above sea level, to Pouxeux . In 1973, national road 420 , which had previously been running on the N 59bis, took over the section between Girecout-sur-Durbion and Fontenay . This has also been graduated since 2006.
