The Route nationale 392 , or N 392 or RN 392 for short , was a French national road .

Between 1933 and 1973, the road ran from the intersection with National Road 4 in Ogéviller to Strasbourg, where it met again with National Road 4. It thus represented an alternative route of the N 4 on this section. During the German occupation of Alsace in World War II , the road between Strasbourg and the Col du Donon was designated as Reichsstraße 358 . In 1973 the national road 420 took over the section between Schirmeck and Entzheim and the rest was staggered. The N 392 crossed the Col du Donon, 718 meters above sea level . Their length was 91.5 kilometers. The former straight line route between Duppigheim and Entzheim was abandoned due to the extension of the runway at Strasbourg airport and the road curves south around the airport site.

The Route nationale 392 ^A , or N 392 ^A or RN 392 ^{A for} short , was a side branch of the N 392, which branched off from this in the Plaine valley and followed it via Celles-sur-Plaine to Raon-l'Étape, where it entered the National road 59 ended. Today, the 14 kilometer road as is the department road 392 ^A classified.
