The Route nationale 398 , or N 398 or RN 398 for short , is a former French national road .

The road was first established in 1933 and at the same time added to the national road network.

The route ran from Dun-sur-Meuse to Érize-la-Petite . It consisted of two sections that were interrupted by the then national road N46 .

In 1973 the national road was downgraded on the entire route. It was in the department Road  rezoned D998.
