The N479 was a French national road from 1933 to 1973 that ran between the N478 south of Decize and Moulins. Their length was 27 kilometers. In 1994 the number N479 was used as a branch of the N79 between exit 5 of the A40 and the N79 northwest of Bourg-en-Bresse. It ran for 3 kilometers on the old route of the N75. In 2006 this branch was downgraded.
