As national route 358 ( R 358 ) was following the acquisition of Alsace as in German civil administration in the year 1940 to 1944 Reichsstrasse referred treated road link, in Strasbourg (Strasbourg) by the then national route 9 branched off and on the route of today's Route départementale 392 ( formerly Route nationale 392 ) via Molsheim and Schirmeck , where the former Reichsstraße 359 branched off to Saales , led to the Col du Donon , shortly after which it left Lower Alsace.
Their total length was around 57 kilometers.
