The national highway 328 ( R 328 ) was identified in 1940 then under civil administration CdZ area Lorraine as Reichsstraße of the German Reich established. It ran from Saargemünd (Sarreguemines) in a south-westerly direction via Puttelange-aux-Lacs (Püttlingen) and from there via Château-Salins (Salzburgen), where the then Reichsstraße 57 was crossed, to the border of occupied France in the direction of Nancy . Route départementale 674 is currently following its course .
The length of the former Reichsstraße was around 68 kilometers.
