The hut is managed from about mid-June to mid-September and offers 54 mountaineers sleeping places.

location

The refuge is located on the west side of the Adamellomassif in the upper Val Salarno. The latter branches off in a north-easterly direction from the Valle del Saviore, a side valley of the Valcamonica . Below the rifugio there are two reservoirs, Lago Dossaccio and Lago di Salarno .

The Rifugio Paolo Prudenzini is located on Adamello High Trail No. 1 .

history

The Rifugio Paolo Prudenzini was built in 1908 by the CAI Section Brescia a little below the Rifugio Salano. The latter was built in 1881, but was buried by avalanches in 1888 . The avalanche-prone location of the Salano hut, the ruins of which can still be seen today, prompted the Brescia Section to build the Prudenzini hut. It is named after the lawyer Paolo Prudenzini , who died in 1907, a passionate mountaineer and writer, who also wrote several works about the Adamello group. The hut burned down during World War II. It was rebuilt in 1948 and enlarged in 1986.
