As national route 357 ( R 357 ) was following the acquisition of Alsace as in German civil administration in 1940-1944 Reichsstraße referred treated road link, the approximately 3 km south of Wasselonne (Wasselonne) by the then national route 28 branched off and on the route of today's Route départementale 422/1422 (formerly Route nationale 422 ) led via Molsheim to Sélestat (Schlettstadt), where it ended at what was then Reichsstraße 38 , which was extended into Alsace .
Their total length was around 41 kilometers.
