Wasselonne (German Wasselnheim , Alsatian Wàssle ) is a French commune with 5652 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) belongs to the canton of Saverne in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It is a member and administrative seat of the Communauté de communes de la Mossig et du Vignoble . The Mossig flows past her.
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Wasselonne belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Molsheim district in the Lower Alsace district .
Wasselonne was the administrative seat and member municipality of the communal association Communauté de communes des Coteaux de la Mossig , which was merged into the Communauté de communes de la Mossig et du Vignoble in 2017 .

Infrastructure
The small town is a hub for private transport - this is where the departmental roads D 25, D 75 and D 224 end. The D 1004 is a continuous expressway there.
In Wasselonne there is the Collège Marcel Pagnol , a grammar school , and the Hôpital local de Wasselonne .

- Today Wasselonne is no longer connected to the French railway network. The disused station buildings of the former Wasselonne , stationery and Wasselnheim stations as well as a goods shed have been preserved.
