Dahlenheim is a French commune with 765 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region ( Alsace until 2015 ). She is a member of the Communauté de communes de la Mossig et du Vignoble .
geography
The place is about 20 kilometers west of Strasbourg in the Upper Rhine Plain .
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Dahlenheim belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Molsheim district in the Lower Alsace district .
The municipality belonged to the Communauté de communes de la Porte du Vignoble , founded in 1994 , which was merged into the Communauté de communes de la Mossig et du Vignoble in 2017 .

Economy and Infrastructure
Viticulture in particular plays an important role in this agricultural community. The Engelberg Grand Cru vineyard is shared with the neighboring community of Scharrachbergheim-Irmstett .
