Rosheim is a French town in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ) with 5149 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 778 as Rodasheim . It received city rights in 1262, combined with the right to build a city wall. In 1303 Rosheim becomes an imperial city . In 1354 it was one of the cities that formed the League of Ten cities .
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Rosheim belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Molsheim district in the Lower Alsace district .

Rosheim maintains a partnership with the municipality of Kappelrodeck in Baden-Württemberg (Germany). The partnership document between the two communities was signed on October 9, 1994 in Kappelrodeck and on March 12, 1995 in Rosheim.
