Attractions
- Church of St. Etienne (18th century) consists of a single nave with a front and gable portal. It has a polygonal choir with recessed axial and a bell tower. The choir is decorated with four large pictures. The pulpit and all the furnishings in the nave are from the construction period. On the altar is a statue of St. Urbain, the patron saint of winemakers. St. Etienne has a silver processional cross, which is decorated with symbols of the evangelists. She also has a remarkable organ. It was built around 1847 by Claude-Ignace Callinet (1803–1874), a member of the famous Callinet family of organ builders. This family built many organs in this region.
- Chapelle St-Armuth / Sankt-Armuthskapelle from 1738. The group of figures opposite the Lourdes grotto next to the chapel should be emphasized here. Christ is no longer on the cross. He lies on Mary's lap in a Pieta pose. Mary Magdalene weeps by her side.
- Chapelle St-Denis, 17th century. Has been in the middle of a cemetery since 1342. It houses paintings by Carola Sorg and a historical tombstone from 1703 of the miller Audran from Wolxheim.
- Maison St-Leon, 19th century. House of the architect of the Bruche Canal. It was bought by the Fathers of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in 1949.
- The Bruche (River) Canal. Built under Vauban to supply the new Strasbourg fortress with materials in just one year, including the necessary locks.
- Ste. Marie Auxilatrice, the small canal chapel. It was built in the 19th century with donations from Mr. and Mrs. Charles Prost. Most notable is the bell-shaped mushroom on their roof. It is located in Wolxheim am Kanal in Hauptstrasse. The chapel is usually closed. The key is from the neighbor.
- Sacré-Cœur statue on the Horn (vineyard ridge), 3.50 meters high, weighs 1.5 tons and covered with approx. 5,000 sheets of 24 carat gold in the vineyards of Wolxheim. The restorer of the Strasbourg cathedral, Gustave Klotz, erected a peace memorial here in 1912 on a property belonging to the Müller-Simonis family, on the basis of which words of the peace of Christ were engraved. The specification at that time was the Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre church in Paris. The open arms of this statue also pointed to the feasts of Kaiser Wilhelm II von Mutzig by Kaiser Wilhelm II. In 2012 there will be a festival or a pilgrimage between the vineyards of Altenberg.
