Russ (German soot ) is a French commune with 1254 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Molsheim and the canton of Mutzig .

The village is located in the Breusch valley in the Vosges . The districts of Les Bruyères, Steinbach and Schwarzbach belong to Russ . Neighboring communities of Russ are Wisches in the north, Muhlbach-sur-Bruche in the northeast, Grendelbruch in the east, Barembach in the south and Schirmeck in the west.
