Scharrachbergheim-Irmstett is a French commune with 1215 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) east of the Mossig in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).

In the district of Scharrachbergheim-Irmstett are the 246 m high Amberg and the 301 m high Scharrach. The area is characterized by fields and vineyards . Scharrachbergheim-Irmstett shares the Engelberg Grand Cru vineyard with the neighboring community of Dahlenheim . The surrounding communities are Osthoffen in the east, Dahlenheim in the southeast, Soultz-les-Bains in the south, Traenheim in the west and Odratzheim in the northwest.

history

In Scharrachbergheim there was a local family of the von Scharrach nobility who gave the settlement its name. The current community was created on January 1, 1975 through the merger of the communities Scharrachbergheim and Irmstett .
