Nathalie Sorce

Nathalie Sorce (* 1979 in Jemeppe-sur-Sambre ) is a Belgian singer. She gained notoriety when she took part in the casting show Pour la gloire ('For Glory') hosted by RTBF in 1998 . Without her knowledge she was registered by her aunt. With her interpretation of the song Amazing Grace , she won in the "Female Soloists" category. Shortly thereafter, the album Wonderful Grace was recorded, but it did not reach the hit parade of the Walloon part of Belgium.

In 2000 she took part in the Belgian qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), which took place on February 18 in Brussels . Although she only received the most votes in the telephone vote in Walloon Brabant and Hainaut , she was able to qualify for the international competition with the Envie de vivre (French for 'lust of life') written by Silvio Pezzuto . There she reached last place with two points that came from Macedonia . For the dress that she wore during her stage appearance, fans of the competition gave her the so-called Barbara Dex Award , which chooses the worst appearance among all candidates. It was named after her compatriot Barbara Dex , who also came last in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with a self-made dress.
