Laura Tesoro (born August 19, 1996 in Antwerp ) is a Belgian singer and actress of Flemish origin. She represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm .

life and career

Tesoro's first role was that of Evy Cuypers in the Flemish crime drama Witse 2008, followed by appearances in the musicals Annie and Domino . In 2009 she appeared at Ketnetpop , at which the former Junior Eurovision Song Contest participants from Belgium gave a concert, and in 2012 she was seen in the soap opera Familie as Charlotte.

She became known as a singer for her second place in the third season of The Voice van Vlaanderen in 2014. Her debut single Outta Here , which she released after the show, reached number 23 in the Flemish singles chart. In November 2015 her second single, Funky Love, was released .

At the same time, her participation in the Belgian ESC preliminary decision Eurosong 2016 was announced. In the first show on January 3, 2016, she covered the Turkish contribution from 2009, Düm tek tek , the Flemish singer Hadise , who was also part of the jury in the final on January 17, but had no influence on the rating. Laura Tesoro won the final through international juries and the Belgian television audience in front of four competitors and represented Belgium in the second semi-final. With her song What's the Pressure she moved into the finals and reached tenth place.
