Linda Lepomme

Linda Lepomme (born March 16, 1955 in Lokeren , Flanders ) is a Belgian actress and singer .

biography

Lepomme's career began in 1978 when she took on the role of Hippolita in the TV movie Toch zonde dat 't een hoer is . In the same year she worked as a background singer on the album Samen zijn we rijk by singer Benny Neyman . The following year she starred in the comedy series De Paradijsvogels . In addition to other television roles, she also appeared in various musicals . In 1985 she was selected internally by BRT television to represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest . The ballad Laat me nu gaan , written by Pieter Verlinden and Bert Vivier, was chosen as the contribution. At the competition in Gothenburg she was unsuccessful: with seven points (all from Turkey ) she came in 19th and last place. Her contribution was also unsuccessful commercially. After a role in the film De Leeuw van Vlaanderen , she withdrew from the public for a few years. In 2000 she took over the position of artistic director of the musical department of the Koninklijk Ballet van Vlaanderen , the largest Belgian institution for classical dance and ballet. For her contribution to the development of the Flemish musical she received a special prize at the national musical awards in 2004. In 2007 she left the position after the department's subsidies were cut and withdrew completely from the music business. In 2001 she had a small role in the movie Pauline & Paulette .
