Barbara Dex (born January 22, 1974 in Turnhout ) is a Belgian singer.

Career

She began her musical career in 1991. In 1992 she released her first single Een land .

With her song Iemand als jij she represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 , but finished last with three points. Nevertheless, this was the beginning of a successful career for Dex, who from then on published songs in Flemish and English, including covers of international hits. She participated in other Belgian preliminary rounds for the Eurovision Song Contest ; In 2004 she was third with One Life (duet with Alides Hidding), in 2006 fifth with Crazy .
