Andrzej Tomasz Piaseczny (born January 6, 1971 in Pionki ) is a Polish singer.

As an artist he usually appears as Piasek . Under this pseudonym he represented Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the song 2 Long ( German : Too long ) and reached 20th place. After the contest, he won the Barbara Dex Award for the worst outfit of the year.

Life

After graduating from high school, Piaseczny began studying music education at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce . In 1992 he became a member of the Mafia group . Even before the group's first album was recorded, he took part in several talent competitions as a solo artist and gave his first solo concert. With Mafia he recorded a total of three albums. In 1995 he recorded the album Sax & Sex with Robert Chojnacki , which sold over 800,000 times. He later recorded two more albums with Chojnacki.

In 1997 he took on a role in the television series Złotopolscy and appeared in a commercial for Pepsi . In 1998 he recorded his first solo album, which went platinum. Together with Natalia Kukulska he recorded a song for the cartoon The Magic Sword - The Legend of Camelot . In 2001 he took part in the Eurovision Song Contest and finished in 20th place. In 2003 his third solo album was released. His fourth album was released a year later, followed in 2005 by the album Jednym tchem and a single based on a poem by John Paul II. He was also the overall winner of the Sopot Festival . In 2006 he recorded another album with Chojnacki. A year later he had a guest appearance on the Polish offshoot of the sitcom Die Nanny . In 2008 he celebrated his 15th stage anniversary.
