Alicja Szemplińska (born April 29, 2002 in Ciechanów ), better known as Alicja , is a Polish singer .

Career

At the age of eleven, Szemplińska won hit, hit, hurray! (2016) and at the age of 17 The Voice of Poland (2019). She mentions Whitney Houston as a musical role model . With the title Empires she won the Polish preliminary decision Szansa na Sukces Eurowizja 2020 and was supposed to represent Poland at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam in May 2020 . However, the competition had to be canceled on March 18, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
